About Gratz Street Boys

Who We Are

Gratz Street Boys was founded by a group of ten friends from Midway, Kentucky, united by a shared passion for racing and a bold idea: to make thoroughbred ownership more personal, more affordable, and more fun. Our first horse, Coalmoon, was purchased at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale—and he's had a cheering section ever since.

We’re not a faceless investment vehicle. We’re a crew of racing fans-turned-owners who want to share in the thrill of the sport.

What Makes Us Different

We keep it small. We keep it real.

  • We're committed to running no more than five horses at a time—so every horse (and every owner) gets the attention they deserve.
  • We aim for a middle ground where you can make a meaningful investment and enjoy active ownership, updates, and a real connection to your horse’s journey.

Our Strategy

We’re a young syndicate—but we’ve found what works, and we’re sticking with it:

  • Buy smart: We’ve started with yearlings purchased at public auctions, but are now exploring horses of racing age, horses in training, and claiming opportunities.
  • Develop intentionally: Yearlings are first laid up to grow and mature, then sent to Silver Springs Training Center before moving to our trusted trainer, Paulo H. Lobo.
